At the 125th meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) format, South Ossetia again raised the issue of the Georgian police post in the area of the settlement of Uista, demanding its removal from its territory.

This was reported to journalists by Deputy Presidential Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement, the head of the South Ossetian delegation Yegor Kochiev.

According to Kochiev, this issue is raised at every meeting in the IPRM format.

“Since the Georgian police post is located on the territory of South Ossetia, its presence also hinders the free movement of our citizens who want to get to their homes located on the right side of the Lopan River.”

According to him, despite the assurances from the Georgian side that residents can move around without fear, the South Ossetian delegation sees only one solution to the problem.

"We see only one solution to this problem - the removal of this post and its removal outside the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia," Yegor Kochiev has emphasized.

The head of the delegation expressed confidence in the final settlement of the issue.

"This issue will be resolved one way or another, and will be resolved in the way that the Republic of South Ossetia wants to see it," Kochiev has concluded
