The preservation of Ossetian traditions and the social situation in South Ossetia were discussed during a meeting between the leader of the Republic, Alan Gagloev, and the third President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Chairman of the South Ossetian branch of the "Supreme Council of Ossetians" Leonid Tibilov.
As reported by press service of the head of state, during the meeting it was also discussed the results of the congress of the "Supreme Council of Ossetians" held in Vladikavkaz, based on which Leonid Tibilov prepared a letter to President of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Alan Gagloev thanked Leonid Tibilov for his active work within the framework of the "Supreme Council of Ossetians", noting the importance of promoting and protecting the traditional values and culture of the Ossetian people.
The President also noted the importance of the issues discussed at the congress and expressed his readiness to consider the proposals set out in the letter.
Leonid Tibilov, in turn, expressed gratitude to Alan Gagloev for the support provided to the organization.
"The Supreme Council of Ossetians is facing serious tasks. The last congress showed that we must be on our guard, taking into account the processes taking place in the Republic and affecting our lives. Tomorrow we are holding a meeting of the coordinating council, where we will be discussing our "æгъдау" (traditions) with the involvement of representatives of the youth, intelligentsia, scientists, etc. We are also going to discuss the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the formation of the Republic," he said.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the crime situation in South Ossetia and the discussion of the situation in the society, including the issue of combating crime.
