The South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili's speech at the UN General Assembly.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry has stated that the Georgian side continues to adhere to rhetoric that does not reflect reality and has reiterated the irreversibility of recognizing the Republic's independence.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has noted that President Kavelashvili's speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, which referred to the "occupation lines," repeats previous statements by the Georgian authorities.

In response, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry has emphasized that the actions of the Russian Federation, including the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008, are based on a solid legal framework and are not subject to review.
