The South Ossetian delegation took part in the festive parade in Sukhum

The South Ossetian delegation, led by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, took part in the parade in honor of the 32nd anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia, press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

A military parade in honor of the Victory Day and the Independence of Abkhazia took place on the Freedom Square in Sukhum on Tuesday.

More than 900 people took part in the ceremonial procession.

Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev congratulated the President and people of Abkhazia on the main national holiday.

On behalf of the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, the Prime Minister read out a welcoming address.

"This significant date is forever inscribed in the history of your country as a symbol of courage, fortitude, and the unwavering will to freedom." The events of those years demonstrated to the entire world the strength of spirit of the Abkhaz people, their determination to defend their right to independence and dignified future.

Our peoples are bound by special, truly fraternal ties, time-tested and strengthened by a shared destiny," the congratulatory message reads.

According to Gagloev, South Ossetia and Abkhazia are always close—in both difficult and joyful times.

"I am confident that these relations will continue to serve as a solid foundation for cooperation, trust, and mutual understanding," Gagloev has noted, wishing President of Abkhazia good health and success in his public service and the people of the Republic peace, well-being and new achievements in the country's prosperity and development.
