The International discussions on security and stability in the Caucasus are the important element in ensuring normal life, predictability, calm, and peace in the region.

This was stated by Konstantin Kochiev, a head of the South Ossetian delegation and State Advisor to President, at the meeting with the co-chairs of the Geneva Discussions in Tskhinval.

The meeting is being held in preparation for the 65th round of the discussions.

Kochiev also noted the key role of the IPRM in maintaining stability on the border between South Ossetia and Georgia.

"Traditional meetings of the delegations of the regional co-chairs before each round of the Geneva Discussions are the important part of our work. They allow us to better prepare for the upcoming meeting and discuss common approaches and current issues," Kochiev has noted.

The EU Co-Chair Magdalena Grono agreed on the importance of such meetings, both for preparations for the Geneva round of discussions and for the IPRM process.

She has expressed hope that all agenda items will be discussed and all the planned events will be completed before the round, which will take place on November 11-12.

Magdalena Grono also thanked the delegation for the opportunity to visit cultural heritage sites, noting that this provides a deeper understanding of the issues discussed in Geneva.

"Tskhinval was the delegation's final stop, following the meetings in Moscow, Tbilisi, and Sukhum," she said. "I am pleased to announce confirmation of the participation of all the parties, including the US delegation, in the upcoming round on November 11-12, demonstrating their sincere commitment to the negotiation process."

The OSCE Co-Chair Christoph Späti expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and appreciation for the role of the IPRM in ensuring security and addressing the needs of the population.
