A group of parliamentarians, on behalf of the the South Ossetian Parliament Speaker Alan Margiev, visited the area where the special military operation is being conducted to provide support to Ossetian servicemen and deliver humanitarian aid, the Parliament's press service reported.
The delegation has included Taimuraz Tadtaev, Deputy Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament and Chairman of the Education and Science Committee; Arsen Kvezerov, Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Small Business, and Agriculture; Soslan Gagiev, Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee; Alexander Gassiev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Ethics Committee; and Inal Tskhovrebov, Chairman of the Counting Commission of the South Ossetian Parliament.
The main objective of the visit was not only to deliver necessary supplies but also to boost the soldiers' morale. The humanitarian aid was intended for the units serving with the Ossetian nationals.
Students from the Tskhinval School No. 2 also took the initiative to make and send camouflage nets, which play a vital role in ensuring security.
Residents of the village of Dzau baked and donated 130 fresh Ossetian pies to the soldiers, symbolizing the warmth and support of home. Furthermore, the soldiers received state awards from President of South Ossetia and the Republic's Ministry of Defense.
As emphasized by Soslan Gagiev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security, the deputies, driven by a sense of duty, contribute a portion of their salaries to the purchase of essential supplies for the soldiers stationed in the special military operation zone.
"We have thoroughly studied the needs of each unit, determining their primary needs. Thanks to our collective support, we purchased electric generators, chainsaws, warm socks, drinking water, canned goods, and other essential items on the front lines.
First, we arrived at the heroic Alania Battalion, where we unloaded part of the cargo. The next day, our journey took us to Donetsk, to our fellow countrymen serving with the 4th Military Base. There, we also distributed some of the aid, taking into account their needs. We also didn't forget the soldiers of the valiant Sarmat Battalion, who also received humanitarian aid. Part of the cargo was delivered to the soldiers of the Issa Pliev Regiment. We also honored the heroes who received state awards, which were presented to them personally on behalf of President of the Republic and Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia. On behalf of Speaker Alan Margiev, several servicemen were awarded Certificates of Honor of Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia," Gagiev has noted.
Soslan Gagiyev expressed special gratitude to the young patriots—students of the Tskhinval Secondary School No. 2—for their painstaking work in making camouflage nets and trench candles, which they warmly donated to our defenders.
