A farewell ceremony was held in Tskhinval for Anatoly "Gots'i" Dzhioev, a soldier perished in the special military operation zone.
South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, his fellow soldiers, and family and friends attended the funeral.
During the funeral service, it was noted that Anatoly Dzhiev was known as a brave and honorable man.
President Alan Gagloev expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, having emphasized that Anatoly Dzhioev was a true patriot, a courageous warrior, and a worthy son of the Republic.
"What could be more difficult than to bid farewell on the same day to the two heroes who gave their lives in the line of military duty? For us, the loss of each of these men is a tremendous loss and pain," the head of state has noted.
Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov has noted in his speech that Anatoly Dzhioev did not fear death.
"We are here today only because he gave his life. People like him are heroes. We must look up to them; we must always remember them, because the future is forged by people like Anatoly," the Ambassador has emphasized.
By decree of President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Anatoly Dzhioev was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.
