Azamat "Tanchik" Bekoev, perished during the special military operation, was buried in Tskhinval.

The soldier died from his wounds.

The head of the South Ossetian Presidential Executive Office, Konstantin Dzhioev, Russian Ambassador Marat Kulakhmetov, members of Parliament led by Speaker Alan Margiev, and Bekoyev's family and comrades-in-arms attended his funeral.

At the memorial service, Bekoev's bravery and selflessness have been noted.

"Azamat was a modest young man. He served in South Ossetia, and when he learned about the special military operation, he went to defend the civilian population. He proved himself a true hero, a loyal comrade-in-arms," ​​they said at the rally.

Bekoev was 33 years old. He left behind a young son.

By decree of the acting President of South Ossetia, Azamat Bekoev was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal (posthumously).
