The border stability and humanitarian issues: results of the 66th round of the Geneva Discussions

The situation along the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia was assessed as stable during the 66th round of the Geneva Discussions. This was reported by the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry following the talks.

On March 19, 2026, the 66th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia concluded at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva. The discussions were held on the basis of the Medvedev-Sarkozy Plan of August 12 and the agreements on its implementation of September 8, 2008.

The South Ossetian and the Nicaraguan diplomats discussed strengthening bilateral relations during the online meeting.

Diplomats from the two countries discussed the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and Nicaragua during the online meeting.

The meeting, whith participation of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev and the Nicaraguan Co-Foreign Minister Valdrac Jentzke, was initiated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who is currently in New York, and Nicaraguan Ambassador to Russia and South Ossetia Alba Torres Mejia also participated in the discussion.
