November 23, 1989 is one of the most significant dates in the history of South Ossetia.

The events of thirty-three years ago determined the fate of the people of South Ossetia, playing an important role in shaping the ideology of the South Ossetian national liberation movement.

On this day, Ossetians, residents of the city of Tskhinval bravely and openly defended their Homeland by their courageous and decisive actions

The event dedicated to the Day of Courage and National Unity was held at the cadet school of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia on Tuesday, the press service of the defense department reports.

The Day of Courage and National Unity on November 23 this year will be marked by a traditional rally at the monument on the outskirts of Tskhinval and the laying of wreaths. 33 years have passed since then. This day to the calendar of memorable dates is declared a day off.

On Monday, the State Commission for the Organization of Holidays and Commemorative Dates determined the measures for holding the Day of Courage and National Unity in the Republic.

The issue of mandatory completion of a migration card when entering the territory of Russia by South Ossetian citizens who do not have dual citizenship was discussed at the meeting of the joint commission on inter-parliamentary cooperation of the Parliament of South Ossetia and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

The co-chair of the South Ossetian part of the Commission, Zaza Dryaev, noted that the agreement on the indefinite stay of citizens of South Ossetia in Russia was signed long ago, but citizens of South Ossetia must fill out migration cards at customs.

The agreement between Russia and South Ossetia was signed in 2015, since then there has been constant work on filling the legal document with solutions, a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, a representative from the legislative body of state power of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Tsekov told reporters.

According to him, 120 agreements, protocols and other documents have been adopted in seven years.

Parliamentarians of South Ossetia discussed with Russian colleagues the issue of the coming into force of the agreement on dual citizenship

The issue of the agreement on dual citizenship was discussed on Friday at the meeting of the Commission on inter-parliamentary cooperation in Tskhinval.

South Ossetia paid last tributes to the volunteer Ivan Elbakiev, perished heroically during a special military operation in Ukraine.

Condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased were expressed by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, Interior Minister Valery Gazzaev and other officials, the staff of the Defense Ministry, colleagues and friends of the deceased.

Many kind words were said about Ivan Elbakiev, his personality, work activity and achievements in the service.

The issue of implementation of the Alliance and Integration Treaty signed between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia was discussed at the meeting of the commission on inter-parliamentary cooperation in Tskhinval.

The co-chair of the South Ossetian part of the commission, Zaza Dryaev, has noted that after the signing of the “Treaty of Alliance and Integration between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation” in 2015, more than 30 agreements were ratified.

Zaza Dryaev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, has noted that the delegation will be headed by Co-chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission Sergei Tsekov.
