Speech at the VI congress of the Ossetian people

The congress of today – the sixth one, according to modern numbering, and under an absolute count – the seventeenth congress of the Ossetian people, has gathered for the first time in Tskhinval. By a strange concurrence of circumstances – it gathered the day before the seventeenth anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia. Let this teenager number deceive nobody. All the same we’re having an anniversary this year – ninety years have passed since the first national congress had been held. Ninety years long Ossetia’s civil institutions have been struggling with the lack of state unity.

«On 12 March 2008 on the request of South Ossetian side, pertaining to problems of Znaur region inhabitants’ passage through the Georgian administered village Avnevi creating by Georgian police servicemen, a monitoring was conducted on the rout of Tskhinval-Khetagurovo-Avnevi-Didmukha-OP PF RNO-Alania «Muguti»-Muguti-Tskhinval».

On 13 March 2008 beginning from 20:45 for about 15-20 minutes from the direction of gardens between the observation post of Russian peacekeepers «Eredvi» and Georgian peacekeepers observation post was delivered fire in direction of Georgian peacekeepers OP, as assistant of JPKF commander on links with media Yuri Vereschak reported to «Res» correspondent.

Sanitary and epidemic service of the Republic of South Ossetia tested the potable water supplying to Tskhinval to check if it contained poisoned substances. This was informed to IA «Res» correspondent by Tskhinval Mayor Robert Guliev.

Yesterday night at 23:10 in Georgian administered village of Eredvi a shoot out took place between the military servicemen of Georgian power structures, which number increased considerably after Russia’s removal of sanctions towards Abkhazia.

On 12 of March in Moscow a working meeting of the Presidents of republic of Abkhazia, Transdnistrian Moldovan Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia was held. In the course of meeting was discussed a wide range of questions pertaining to the alteration of international situation, first of all within the context of recognition by a number of states of former Serbian autonomy – Kosovo and Metokhia. The Presidents of Abkhazia, Transdnistria and South Ossetia agreed that recognition of Kosovo begins new stage in international relations and in development of modern international law.

Taking into consideration the importance of family in the Republic public life, in order to provide State support to the family, conducting systematic demography policy, 2008 declared by the decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Family Year.

Delegation from the Republic of South Ossetia headed by the RSO Parliament Vice-Speaker Yuri Dzidtsoity left for Moscow to participate Parliamentary hearings at the RF State Duma on the problem of unrecognized states. The delegation included First Deputy of RSO Prime Minister who is also Co-Chairman of Joint Control Commission from South Ossetian part Boris Chochiev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of RSO Murat Djioev, the Head of State Committee on Information and Press of RSO Irina Gagloeva, the Deputy of RSO Parliament Chairman Tarzan Kokoity and Director of NGO ACECD Dina Alborova. RSO Parliament Vice-Speaker Yuri Dzidtsoity will come out as the co-reporter on the question of the situation around South Ossetia. This was reported to a «Res» correspondent at the RSO Parliament press-service.

The grandiose action “Recognition for unrecognized” is held today in Tskhinval-the capital of Republic of South Ossetia. The action is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. It is dated for hearings in RF State Duma on the question of recognition of the independence of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transdnistria.

It seems that the main problem of Dmitry and Vladimir Sanakoev and brothers Karkusov is they have never read books in their childhood.
