At the international press-center of the Republic of South Ossetia was carried press-conference of the RSO President Eduard Kokoity. Questions that were asked by the journalist were mainly related to the political situation around the Republic and the forthcoming referendum.
On 7th November 2006 Georgian informational-analytical website apsny.ge published material the content of which we quote fully:

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia was dismissed Chairman of the Committee of State Security of the RSO Nikolai Dolgopolov.
In Vladikavkaz at the meeting of territorial organizations of the Russian Union of Youth in South Russia was made an appeal to the International Community, EU, OSCE and the Government of Georgia on the occasion of the referendum on the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. The young leaders of the North Caucasian subjects of the RF urge to “stop dividing the world depending interests”, “ to bar from new bloodshed”, “refrain from extremism” and “accept the will of the people of South Ossetia”.
A session of the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia with participation of the President Eduard Kokoity took place. In the session also participated heads of security agencies and heads of local administrations.
Despite the declarations of the so-called “alternative election headquarters” to act independently and without support from the Georgian Special Services, is received information on active participation of security agencies in the election campaign of the “alternative” candidates.
Georgian knights faced another fiasco by becoming a hostage of their own megalomania and loud declarations.
As it is known “South Ossetia liberation union” has widely announced that in the so called “alternative” elections will participate not less than 45 000 voters. It is well known that this number is too high both for the northern Georgian enclaves and Leningory region.
Peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict discovered in one and a half kilometers to the south of village Shavshvebi a radar installation of the Georgian air defense for detection and pointing, the radar is protected by the Georgian Ministry of Defense subdivision.
Today President of the Republic of South Ossetia arrived to Sukhum, capital of Abkhazia. The RSO President met with the President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh. The sides discussed relations with Georgia and possible future developments.
Around 14:00 northern part of Tskhinval was under fire from Georgian village Tamarasheni, temporarily not controlled by the authorities of the Republic of South Ossetia.
