At the invitation of Vladimir Putin, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev arrived in Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory. ⠀
“The arrival of guests and foreign leaders to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow is taking place against the backdrop of a large-scale attack by the Ukrainian drones, the purpose of which is to disrupt the Victory military parade and create obstacles for the arrival of delegations from the states friendly to Russia. Such measures cannot in any way prevent us from gathering together on the day of our common Great Victory and honoring the bright memory of the fallen heroes. Despite the obstacles created, we arrived without delay to congratulate the multinational people of Russia together and support President of the Russian Federation,” the President told journalists.⠀
The 80th anniversary of the Victory is not just the anniversary date, it is a clear reason to once again reflect on the lessons of history, Gagloev has emphasized. ⠀
“Every fifth resident of South Ossetia was fighting on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. This is a holiday that unites the entire country. And as long as we are worthy of the memory of our ancestors, as long as we carefully preserve their legacy, the Victory will live forever,” Gagloev has noted. ⠀
As part of the delegation from South Ossetia, the President is accompanied by Acting Defense Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Inal Sabanov and Chairperson of the Information and Press Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia Maria Kotaeva.⠀
It should be reminded that a record number of guests over the past 20 years have been invited to the 80th anniversary of Victory this year.
