The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry issued a harsh commentary on the adoption of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution "Cooperation with Georgia" in Geneva on October 8.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry called the document a manifestation of "political myopia" and a loss of objectivity.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry expressed regret that "a once authoritative international body has begun to suffer from tunnel vision syndrome, trampling on its own traditions and statutory principles, and has completely lost objectivity, impartiality, and professionalism."

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson has stated that the resolution's supporters express "serious concern about the various forms of discrimination and human rights violations committed against the ethnic Georgian population in the Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali."

South Ossetia considers such statements "tendentious," emphasizing that the document "fails to even pay decency a tribute to the memory of the thousands of innocent Ossetian and Abkhaz victims killed and maimed by followers of the criminal ideology of the Georgian supremacy."

The Foreign Ministry reiterated that Georgia was recognized as the aggressor by the EU International Commission under the leadership of Heidi Tagliavini, but this fact is ignored on the international forums.

The statement has concluded by emphasizing that such "double standards in assessing the actual state of affairs," ignoring geopolitical realities, and "unfounded accusations of 'occupation' against Russia" only confirm the correctness of South Ossetia and Abkhazia's decisions to independently determine their own destiny, build statehood, and develop cooperation with friendly countries.
