The Abkhaz President Badra Gunba discussed strengthening interstate and fraternal relations with a South Ossetian delegation led by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev.
Badra Gunba thanked South Ossetia for its support and emphasized the importance of jointly celebrating Victory Day and Independence Day of Abkhazia, the Cabinet press service reports.
The socio-economic development program for South Ossetia through 2030 will strengthen the Republic's economy. This was stated by the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev during a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
"You mentioned the socio-economic development program being drafted for 2026-2030. This is the important document. We expect its implementation to also serve as a major step in strengthening South Ossetia's economic strength," Dzhioev said.
South Ossetia is grateful to Russia for its contribution to ensuring the Republic's security and considers international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia the important format. The Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Russia, Akhsar Dzhioev and Sergey Lavrov, signed a Consultation Plan between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for 2026-2027.
The document was signed during the working meeting between Dzhioev and Lavrov in Sochi on Wednesday.
