A group of pilgrims from the Alanian Diocese visited historical sites in Western Alania in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic.
According to the Diocese's press service, the pilgrims visited the church complex in the village of Arkhyz, the capital of the Alanian Metropolitanate, where its pulpit and a rock carving of Christ the Savior were located.
The pilgrims also visited the village of Kosta Khetagurov-Laba, overlooked by the Shaonin Church of St. George the Victorious, the oldest Christian monument in the Russian Federation.
