President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the combatants from Luhansk, Donetsk and Abkhazia, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the Day of the State Flag and the Day of the Republic.

“The people of South Ossetia gained independence at the cost of heavy losses, but today we are celebrating the day of the State Flag of the Republic, and thank you for being with us today,” the head of state said at the meeting with combatants.

Participants in the hostilities from Luhansk, Donetsk and Abkhazia arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the next anniversary of the formation of the Republic.

As Madina Plieva, the head of the Fund for the wounded who became disabled during the hostilities in South Ossetia from 1989-2008, told IA “Res”, about 15 guys arrived in the Republic and will take part in all the festive events.

The solemn ceremony of raising the state flag took place on Monday on the Theater Square in Tskhinval. The event continued with a concert program with the participation of the South Ossetian artists and schoolchildren.
