A documentary film by Victoria Lazarova, "Gone with the Zar", will be shown in Moscow. It tells about the tragic events in South Ossetia in May 1992, known as the Zar tragedy.
The premiere of the documentary will take place at the Oktyabr cinema on Tuesday in a closed screening format.
The film is based on historical facts, the eyewitness accounts and expert opinions, revealing the nature of the interethnic conflict and showing the events through the eyes of ordinary people who became the unwitting participants in those terrible days.
The film features the unique archival footage and exclusive interviews.
"The film was created and promoted entirely at our own expense, it does not focus on the political processes of that time and is intended to draw the attention of society through the prism of specific event to the trials that befall people whose lives were invaded by the tragedy of military conflict against their will and how their subsequent fates develop differently. The film has already been announced for international documentary film festivals with a wide geography of screenings," director Victoria Lazarova has noted.
The premiere of the film will also be attended by representatives of the Embassy of South Ossetia in Moscow.
After the closed screening in Moscow, the film will be available on various film platforms.
