There is hope that the illegal Georgian police post near the village of Uista in South Ossetia will be removed. This was stated by Yegor Kochiev, the head of the South Ossetian delegation, summing up the 130th I PRM meeting.

He has noted that the period since the end of last year has been calm.

"Since December 22 of last year, the situation has remained stable, predictable, and calm, which inspires a certain amount of optimism. Among the issues we raised is the continued illegal presence of the Georgian police post on the South Ossetian territory near the village of Uista. There have been no breakthroughs yet, but there is some hope that we will be able to convince the Georgian party and this post will be removed," Kochiev said.

In addition to the territorial issues, airspace security was also discussed at the meeting. According to the head of the delegation, not a single unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight had been recorded for two months.

Yegor Kochiev expressed hope that this year would be a turning point for the negotiation process.

"We hope that the coming year will be more positive and productive. We hope that the minor incidents that occurred previously will subside, and we will have a very calm situation along the entire border," he has noted.

The next round of Ithe PRM talks is scheduled for the spring; the 131st meeting is scheduled for March 31.
