Tskhinval bid farewell to Soslan Kisiev, call sign "Iron," perished while serving in the line of duty in the special military operation zone.
Kisiev had been missing in action for exactly one year. It was only now that his body was returned to his homeland.
Representatives of the Republic's leadership, led by Prime Minister Dzambolat Tadtaev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, and the hero's family, friends, and comrades-in-arms attended the funeral.
Marat Kulakhmetov has noted that Soslan was a true hero.
"Soslan was a man of exceptional courage and bravery." He served as a storm trooper, and storm troopers are those who don't fear death and go into battle, no matter what. Soslan was a hero to the very end. People like him shape our future, and we must not forget such heroes," the Ambassador said.
Minister of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia, Yuri Yarovitsky, has noted that Soslan, as a true hero, was honorably fulfilling his military duty during the special military operation and died a hero's death. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Republic.
Soslan Kisiev was 48 years old. He is survived by five children.
By decree of President of South Ossetia, Soslan Kisiev was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal (posthumously).
