April 28, 1991 is a tragic date in the modern history of South Ossetia.

On this day, seven unarmed residents of the village of Tsinagar in Leningor district - Otar Margiev, Givi Bibilov, Slavik Chertkoev, Zaur Khubulov, Otar Khubulov, Tengiz Dudaev and Taimuraz Khubulov - were killed by the Georgian militants while defending their pastures from cattle rustling.

This crime became one of the first evidences of growing aggression of Georgia.

For 34 years, this wound has been bleeding in the hearts of residents of the Republic and the relatives of the victims.

In South Ossetia, they cherish the memory of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defended our freedom, the entire Soviet Union, liberating the world from fascism. This was stated by Executive Director of the Russian Presidential Grants Fund Anton Dolgov during his visit to Tskhinval.

"This year we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which was the result of the contribution of all the peoples that were part of the Soviet Union, including the residents of South Ossetia.

A delegation of Parliament of South Ossetia headed by Speaker Alan Margiev, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, will take part in the work of the International Patriotic Forum "Great Heritage - Common Future", the press service of the legislative body reports.

The event will be held on the initiative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.

The Dorum will be held on April 28-30, 2025 in the hero city of Volgograd.

Luxembourg has become the venue for the opening of the exhibition of Ossetian artists "Arv-Art" as part of the "Days of Ossetian Culture in Europe".

As reported to IA "Res" by the head of the international non-profit association "Renaissance Sandidzan" Radion Pukhaev, the exhibition presents the works by talented artists from different countries.

South Ossetia Ambassador to Russia Znaur Gassiev took part in the memorial ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden in Moscow, the press service of the diplomatic department reports.

Gassiev attended the event at the invitation of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was accompanied by a performance by the Military Model Orchestra of the Guard of Honor.

A working meeting of the delegation of Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia headed by Minister Alan Guchmazov and the leadership of the Russian National Guard headed by First Deputy Director of the Russian National Guard Yuri Yashin took place in Moscow.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas for the further development of interdepartmental cooperation, the press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reports.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev held a meeting dedicated to the preparation and holding of the first International Forum, which will be held in Tskhinvali in 2025.

Alan Gagloev emphasized the importance of holding the Forum for the development of international economic cooperation, attracting investment and promoting the potential of South Ossetia in the international arena.

As noted here, the Forum is intended to promote the development of international economic cooperation between the Republic and foreign partners.

The Organizing Committee has been created to prepare and hold the International Forum, and Taimuraz Goginov, the Trade Representative of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, has been appointed its Chairman.

The development of the South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations was discussed during a meeting between the head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev. This was reported by press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

As noted, the meeting took place in Sukhum. Oleg Botsiev congratulated Oleg Bartsits on his appointment to the post of head of the foreign policy department.
